Part-Time Nation: Number Of High-Wage Jobs Added In March: +2,000
Curious why hourly wages fell, and why the weekly number continues to trend at a near-recession level, and certainly one that does not support a 2% inflation growth case? Here’s why: in March the best paying industry groups – information, financial activities and manufacturing (which actually saw a drop of 1,000 jobs in the past month) – added a cumulative total of… 2,000 jobs among them. Where was the bulk of the job gains? At the worst paying sectors of course. (more)
IMO: When I first heard the employment situation, the first thing I thought of was exactly what this article speaks about.
U.S. probing high-speed trading, attorney general says
(Reuters) – The U.S. Justice Department is investigating high-speed trading for possible insider trading, Attorney General Eric Holder told lawmakers on Friday.
The disclosure comes the same week that securities regulators and the FBI also confirmed they are looking into potential wrongdoing by high-frequency stock traders. (more)
IMO: Maybe the Attorney General should be probing itself? Also, at the same time we shouldn’t have a rigged market. This is why I’m a fan of Automated Systems sSee below).
In The Markets
Emini S&P (ES)
Market Comments: Jobs report came out a bit better than expected and Unemployment held 6.7%. Indices had a small correction. Is this the correction we have been looking for?
Market Comments: Fresh cross to the downside on the daily charts confirmed a few days ago. I’m watching a pending bullish cross on the Dollar Index. As I currently watch Gold it’s still within its downtrend, and as I’ve been saying it will probably take a “Fundamental Event” for a reversal. Huge battle at these pivot points for the Bulls & Bears camps!
U.S. Dollar (DX-M)
Market Comments: Dollar down big today, which means Gold is up, it never did confirm it’s bullish cross to the upside.
