Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Donna has been a resident of Texas since 2004. Donna began her career in commodities at the CME Group Clearing House in 1978. It was there that she became familiar with the hog and cattle trade as she worked with the USDA to facilitate physical inspections of livestock for CME Delivery.
In 1980 she became Series 3 licensed and joined a firm led by prominent pork belly hedger George Segal where she expanded on her knowledge of physical commodities by hedging and merchandising pork bellies. It was during that time that Donna gained the knowledge and experience for hedging and markets that she utilizes today to assist producers in their Risk Management strategies.
Donna contributes weekly commodity commentary to several media outlets including Sirius XM Rural Radio, KTAB-TV in Abilene, Texas as well as The Matt Smith Farm and Ranch Show in Abilene, Texas. She is a frequent guest speaker at Texas Agrilife Extension Producer Marketing Events and proudly supports the Master Marketer Program as well as Annie’s Project for Women in Agriculture. Donna resides in Abilene, Texas.
