  • Copper futures hit four-month high on tightening supply: [Sep 02 09:38 AM] The price of copper soared on Thursday morning, reaching a four-month high of $7,675 per ton on the London Metal Exchange, reported the Financial Times. That's the red metal's highest level since April 2010, when it reached $8,000 per ton. Read more
  • Slight decrease in jobless claims leads to mild stock rise: [Sep 02 09:07 AM] U.S. equity index futures were mixed this morning, with initial jobless claims showing a very mild decrease - enough that the news wasn't actively bad, but not strong enough to inspire confidence. Read more
  • U.S. and China manufacturing drive crude oil futures: [Sep 01 05:28 PM] The price of crude oil surged on Monday, driven by surprisingly optimistic manufacturing figures from both the U.S. and China. The rise in crude futures also buoyed the stocks of producers like Exxon-Mobil, Chevron and Petrobras, which all gained at least 3 percent in today's trading. Read more

  • Stock index futures jump despite poor jobs data: [Sep 01 10:13 AM] Stock index futures around the globe soared on Wednesday, despite disappointing jobs data in the U.S. A new report from ADP, the payroll service, showed that for the first time since January, private sector employment in the U.S. fell - a drop of 10,000 jobs, despite an average analyst estimate of 15,000 added jobs. Read more
  • Crude oil plummets, heading for monthly loss: [Aug 31 04:16 PM] As economic conditions continue to feed bearish sentiment, crude oil futures sustained heavy losses on Tuesday. On the IntercontinentalExchange, West Texas Intermediate light, sweet crude oil futures for October delivery dropped more than 4 percent to $71.67 per barrel. Read more
