- Financial reform bill sinks box-office futures: [2010 Jun 29 12:30 PM] Despite the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's approval of not one but two separate box office futures proposals, it appears unlikely that traders will see such a market any time soon. The financial reform bill awaiting final approval by the House and Senate will ban any contracts based on box office receipts. Read more
- CFTC approves box office receipt futures proposal: [2010 Jun 16 02:43 PM] After a delay last week, the Commodity Futures Trading Commision approved the proposal for "Weekend Motion Picture Revenue" futures and options contracts submitted by Media Derivatives, Inc. Read more
- New futures index tracks dollar against currency basket: [2010 Jun 10 10:54 AM] CME Group and Dow Jones Indexes announced the launch of a new index called the Dow Jones CME FX$INDEX on Tuesday, which they say will give futures brokers and traders a more efficient way to trade global currencies against the U.S. dollar.
