Many industry professionals are saying today could be the end of the summer trading volatility lulls depending on what is said or discussed by Janet Yellen during her Fed Speech today. This has led to many industry professionals disappointed with Yellen and the FOMC’s involvement up to this point and that the microscope the market has had to put on these speeches and announcement. Really all anybody cares about knowing is if they will be hiking in September or December or not at all. It is unlikely we will get a definitive answer. Regardless of what takes place, we should get some volatility from the speech. I would predict several knee jerk reactions in both directions. Some people say the first reaction is usually the wrong reaction. The way we have been trending the last few session is a bit of a hawkish view, and there are many articles reports going around on major news media sites discussing that the odds have gone from 0% chance of a hike around brexit to a 1 in 3 chance. Only time will tell. Unless you have a strong feeling of what will happen or feel like flipping a coin. It is most likely best to sit on the sidelines and wait and see. Or switch gears to longer term support resistance levels and look to trade with small size. Most markets will be watching this news as it will effective equities, treasuries, currencies, which spills over into other commodities.

STOP ORDERS DO NOT NECESSARILY LIMIT YOUR LOSS TO THE STOP PRICE BECAUSE STOP ORDERS, IF THE PRICE IS HIT, BECOME MARKET ORDERS AND, DEPENDING ON MARKET CONDITIONS, THE ACTUAL FILL PRICE CAN BE DIFFERENT FROM THE STOP PRICE. IF A MARKET REACHED ITS DAILY PRICE FLUCTUATION LIMIT, A "LIMIT MOVE", IT MAY BE IMPOSSIBLE TO EXECUTE A STOP LOSS ORDER.
THE RISK OF LOSS IN TRADING COMMODITY FUTURES AND OPTIONS CONTRACTS CAN BE SUBSTANTIAL. THERE IS A HIGH DEGREE OF LEVERAGE IN FUTURES TRADING BECAUSE OF SMALL MARGIN REQUIREMENTS. THIS LEVERAGE CAN WORK AGAINST YOU AS WELL AS FOR YOU AND CAN LEAD TO LARGE LOSSES AS WELL AS LARGE GAINS.
