Don Mahlmeister

After meandering for a few years at Marquette University while 'studying' Mechanical Engineering, Donny switched gears and pursued a more right-brain aspiration as a Graphic Designer. He graduated with a BFA in Communication Design from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2001. After graduation, he worked freelance for a few years, doing a variety of projects for organizations such Chicago Public Schools, Northwestern University and Penton Publishing.

In July of 2006, Donny joined the Daniels Trading team as a full-time member of the support staff. As the sole designer at Daniels, the broad scope of work has greatly expanded his prowess as a designer. While footing an equal role as web developer and traditional print designer, Donny has worked to create an innovative but cohesive brand on everything from banner ads to paper print ads, email marketing, web development, online and print brochures, and logo identity development. Designing for the DT family of brands provides a consistent challenge in that it necessitates the opportunity to innovate by staying ahead of the current trends in the dynamic financial market, but also remains firmly grounded in the functional arena that best serves the corporate environment.

The duality of the life that Donny lives means designer by day, musician by night. After logging out of his Mac every night at DT, he spends countless hours playing in multiple bands and working as a recording engineer - producing his own projects and other bands. In recent years he has played guitar, bass and keyboards with groups that have toured extensively throughout the US and Europe.
